About two-weeks ago, I think you realized that she wasn't just visiting. You can be quite mean to her; pinching her, poking her in the eye, hitting her, pushing on her tummy, etc. It is to the point that I cannot leave you alone with her. I recognize that you are only three and this is a big transition for you but man, if you could hurry up and grow out of this phase, my sanity would be all the better.
And then you have moments where you get so excited about Louise you just want to hug and kiss her to pieces. I totally understand as I often want to eat her up too.
A few weeks ago you had Harvest Festival at preschool. The parents were invited to come and see all of the kids celebrating this season. It is obvious that you are new to preschool and one of the younger ones in the class as you were shy and didn't want to participate, preferring to watch. I am confident that soon you will feel more comfortable singing and dancing with the other kids. Preschool has been wiping you out too - we can just see your brain growing. You have been napping more again which is just fine with mommy!
Speaking of singing, you are doing that so much lately! Mostly you make up the words to familiar tunes like "Twinkle, Twinkle" and you like to sing very, very loudly.
You are experiencing big emotions - recognizing when people are happy, sad, frustrated, etc. When we tell you something you don't want to hear, a common response is, "you are making me mad!"
And the questions continue - all.day.long."What are we doing today?", "Then what are we going to do?" and "Why?" Often you validate your statements by asking, "right?"
In the morning you exude happiness and are ready to start the day. Typically the first thing you ask is if you can watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and we have begun bribing you by saying you need to sit on the toilet first. The jury is still out as to whether or not this is helping you advance in the potty process but we are willing to try it. A big jar of candy sits above the toilet to also entice you. So far, not much luck.
A love for your green kiki (blanket) continues and you make it very clear to Louise that this is YOURS! We have been spending quite a lot of time in the kitchen cooking and baking. You love to help and also get out your play food and make soup. It is so fun watching you really begin to "get" pretend play and use your imagination. The things you come up with are fascinating.
It has been fun talking about halloween. You are so excited to go trick-or-treating and have suggested that you get candy for Louise too since she is a baby. What a thoughtful big brother you are huh?
Love you E,
Mommy
