Louise Newsletter: Month 7

I know, I know...I am long overdue to write this. Between you and Elliot, you keep me so busy, but I digress...
Louise - you have started army crawling and have quickly become very fast at it. You have reached that point where I can't really trust you out of my sight anymore and have begun to gate you in certain places.
This is so crazy to me as your brother never army crawled and didn't "really crawl" until he was nine-months-old. You are so advanced =)

There are two words in your repertoire, "mama" and "dada". Though we are pretty convinced you don't actually know what they mean.
You now have three-teeth with two more coming any day now on the top. These last two have left you feeling pretty crummy and fussy. Can't say that we blame you.

You are on the verge of "really crawling" by getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth. We think you are days away from putting it all together. And somehow you manage to sit up 1/2 way with the support of one arm. Then quickly you change into downward-facing-dog yoga pose. Future yogi?
You continue to love eating food, chomping on carrot sticks or apple slices.
So far though you are not such a fan of anything pureed and green...

Sleeping continues to go well at night. You often sleep 11-12 hours straight which means you don't nap much during the day. No complaints about that as we are usually on the go during the day with your brother anyway. You love to be held and carried in the ergo.
You have grown out of the exersaucer already because you are so tall! The Johnny Jumper is a new favorite.

You continue to exude happiness and mellowness. We couldn't love you anymore than we already do.

Love,

Mama

Elliot Newsletter March 2012

Spring has sprung this year with temps in the 80's in early March!
We have been spending a ton of time outside and at the park.
It is always amazing to see how much you change every spring at the park.
You are so confident climbing things and able to do so much by yourself with no fear. You love to go down slides, swing and climb up ladders. Before, I always had to be in your sight line and now you are off playing with other kiddos and being so kind to those that are smaller than you.

Such funny things are asked by you or stated throughout the day. Like the phrase, "sure is" i.e. "it sure is dark in here", "it sure is sunny out today", etc. You ask a ton of questions. A lot of what things are made of i.e. "what is bread made of?", "what is milk made of?", "what am I made of?"

I was hoping that the winter would eradicate your fear of bugs but that hasn't seemed to happen. Spring started a little rough with you coming in the house screaming that a bug landed on you or flew by you. We have talked a lot about how bugs are not going to hurt you, they are just looking for friends. Your fear has quieted a bit but you still aren't totally convinced. Let's hope it continues to subside or it will be a very.long.summer.

We took you on your first trip this month. We had a great time with you in Mexico for a week. You were very excited to ride an airplane and loved being in the pool and the water slides. You were an absolute fish in the pool though you weren't so sure about the ocean, the waves bothered you. Eating was your other favorite part as you consumed donuts, chicken fingers, french fries and ice cream with sprinkles at almost every.single.meal. About half-way through the trip you told us that you liked vacation. Who doesn't?

Love you buddy,

Mommy
