Newsletter Month: 4
Elliot - yesterday you turned four months old. It has been quite a month for you and we have really witnessed you change so much.

We celebrated your first Christmas with many family and friends - all wanting to share in this moment with you. On Christmas Eve you decided not to nap at all during the day. I think you knew Santa was coming. We attempted to take you to church that night knowing we were tempting fate that you were crabby from no napping but we hoped you would sleep during the service. Well, that didn't happen and you fussed from the beginning of service and daddy and I took turns walking you in the hallway. A church staff member saw you in the hallway and asked if you were nine or ten months old. We all laughed when he found out you were only three months old. I think we are going to be getting that a lot as everyone realizes you are such a big boy!

On Christmas Day again you decided not to nap all day. Your daddy and I were left scratching our heads as to what was going on. We soon found out after a road trip to WI. This time you slept the whole way there and the whole way back which was much more peaceful than Thanksgiving. After we had arrived at Grandpa Rick's and Grandma Mary's we discovered that you had cut your first tooth! We couldn't believe it - you were only three months old! One week later on January 2 you cut another one. So you now have two teeth and are working on more as I write this.

Bottle Battle 2009 began on January 2 as I tried to get you to successfully take a bottle during the day in preparation for me going back to work. It was a tough day followed by a few more with your daddy as he committed to it several days the past two weeks. You are finally taking it very well and we hope that continues as you start day care this week.
The volume of your voice has been a recent discovery as it sometimes sounds like a cross between a siren and a shriek. You are almost sitting up by yourself and have rolled over once. And in the past few days we have just discovered your giggle which is without a doubt my favorite sound in the world. I look forward to many more days filled with your laughter.

Love,
Mama
