Elliot Newsletter July 2012
Elliot - when asked how old you are these days, you respond with, "3 and 3/4".
There is a lot of birthday talk going on as we are attending a lot of parties for your friends. You are frequently asking, "how many days until your birthday?", "can I have chocolate cake and chocolate frosting for my birthday cake?" and "is my birthday tomorrow?"
Funny questions and comments continue to make us chuckle. Here are some excerpts:
"Mommy, do you think Ady loves me as much as she loves her other friends?"
"Mommy, when I get bigger I will need a wife. You will need to help me wear something nice for my wife."
"How did I get here when I was a baby?"
"How did Louise get out of your tummy?"
We are playing outside a ton, going swimming and picnics at the park. Some days the heat index has been scary hot so we have laid low inside. We even had a "picnic" on the living room floor for dinner one night. You were so excited about this and have asked to do it often since.
To beat the heat we have also been playing a lot of games. You continue to love Uno and can now play SkipBo pretty well. Though you are not a pretty loser. We are working on sportsman-like conduct and talking about wishing eachother "good game".
So far you are not convinced and meltdown if you lose.
With the summer weather has come summer produce and you have been enjoying lots of sugar snap peas, green beans, watermelon, blueberries, peaches and nectarines.
And there have been a few moments when you can be found actually playing nice with your sister. (I almost didn't want to write that down for fear of it backfiring).
Summer camp winds down soon and I think you are ready for a few more lazy days of summer yet. Me too.
Love you E,
Mommy
