Earlier this month, you were sicker than you have ever been. You had pink-eye, an ear infection and croup. You were so sick and confused about why you felt so bad. There were many sleepless nights for you and I. After about a week, you were back to your old self, bouncing and jumping around. Though missing a week of preschool really bummed you out. Thankfully you didn't pass it onto your sister. I hope that this is our only serious illness this winter (fingers crossed!)
Speaking of your sister, your attitude toward her continues to improve and you are starting to realize she isn't so bad.
Big progress on the potty front - you are in underwear at home all-day! You have come so far! And you got a big-boy, twin bed this past weekend. You are growing up right before our eyes.
You have really been able to understand Christmas this year. At preschool, you made us a candle for a present. While working on it, you would come home and tell us small details but made sure not to give it away because it was a "secret". Your favorite Christmas song is "Jingle Bells", you love to rearrange ornaments on the tree and you reminded all of us to behave because "santa is watching". We had a lot of Christmases so you are pretty confused as to why the presents and eating cookies everyday have stopped? Every morning you asked if it was Christmas today? Then, "how many more days?" On Christmas Eve morning, you woke up at GK's house at 5:30am asking if it was Christmas today? I said yes, but not at 5:30am so go back to sleep! Which of course, you didn't! As her big brother, you realized she couldn't open her presents so you were more than happy to open them for her and show her what she got. It was so cute.
You did very well with Santa, even able to tell him you wanted Lego's for Christmas. On Christmas morning, you were still a bit confused by the Santa thing but impressed that he delivered your wish.
We are excited to see how much you grow and change in 2012.
Love,
Mommy
