Two-days ago you turned 13-months old. Wow what a busy month it has been for you.
We celebrated your big birthday with a joint party for you and I. It was a beautiful day and you were such a trooper handling a lot of people, lots of presents and cake. Well let's be honest you loved the cake part =) It was a busy day for you but you were your usually happy self making new friends and trying to walk.
A few days later you did start walking. Walking! We still can't believe it. On October 9 you just got up and walked across the living room. Your daddy and I were very excited and you just smiled at us like it was no big thing. Since then, that is all you want to do. Practice, practice, practice. And we are amazed at how good you are now compared to then.
Except of course when Wini runs you over. You still look at her like, "hey girl, I just started walking a few days ago. Could you give a guy a break and take it easy around here?"
She proceeds to run you over anyway.
You are taunting her more and more these days. Leaning your head in so she will lick you. Which frustrates the heck out of us because then you break out in hives, so we are constantly hosing you down. So could you knock that off?
Lots of new words this month. You are trying very hard to say dog - you get the "duh" out and then later "guh" but you haven't managed to string it together. It is like watching Sesame Street all over again. You are saying bye-bye and waving and have the high-five down pat. Pretty impressive.
In addition to these spectacular things you are making your daddy and I pull our hair out as well. You are unrolling the toliet paper roll, visiting us in the shower and insisting on dropping all kinds of things in the tub and watching them get wet. You are opening the trash and digging stuff out of it. You are jumping on your bed and rattling the rails. In addition to recently finding out that your fingers fit perfectly up your nose...nice and classy that one.
However, your daddy and I shake our heads often and just look at you with wonder as you are changing so fast. You are becoming such a big boy, you are a real trip Elliot.
Love,
Mama
