Newsletter Month: 2

Elliot - yesterday you turned two months old. So much has happened this month both in your life and within the world. We took you along to the polls as we cast our ballots. We rocked you to sleep as we watched history happen when Barack Obama was elected President. It was a pretty amazing night. Let's hope by the time you read about him in your history books, he will have fixed a lot of the problems we are facing right now.

You have gotten so big lately - our arms start to go numb after holding you for a while without a pillow! Not that we are complaining - we are thankful that you are so healthy. You have really started to show your personality lately - I love your expressions especially when you are thinking so hard. I often wonder what you are thinking about. Should we bail out the big three auto makers? When will the housing market recover? How do we fix the financial crisis? Or maybe you are just thinking about how long it has been since you have eaten and when do you get to eat again?

You have really started to smile alot and have started to giggle a bit. Even at 4am when you decide to be wide awake - that smile gets me and all I can do is laugh at you and try to forget how tired I am. Overall you are such a good baby sleeping 6-7 hours in a row at night, waking up all smiles and rarely very fussy. We are thankful for that.

You have discovered music recently as we play a lot of CD's in your room. Often times we lay you in your crib under your mobile which you are mesmerized with and put rattles on your hands and feet. It isn't long before you are dancing and grooving away to the music. We hope this is an indication that our love of music has been passed along to you.

Your dad continues to be quite enamored with you. He rushes to see you when he walks in the door at the end of the day - trying hard to make you smile instantaneously. You definetly have his demeanor - laid back and easy going. And it is more obvious to me everyday that you look just like him. Sometimes I wonder if any of my DNA is in there?

I continue to love being your mom - watching you change and grow and become this little person. I am trying very hard to capture and remember you like this as much as I can for I know this time with you every day will continue to fly by.

Love,

Mama

Elliot, you and your Mama and Papa have made my day! What a beautiful smile, and I see your Papa glowing in joy at your every moment, and hear your Mama giggling as only she can giggle. Love, Grandma Bev
