Louise Newsletter: Month 6
Weezy - you are 1/2 a year old! How did that happen? Seriously I feel like that went by in a blink!

You are getting so big and showing so much personality. You love to roll over to get where you want to go. If a toy is on the opposite side from you, you figure out how to rolly-polly about to get it. Everything is ending up in your mouth as you are so curious to figure stuff out. And you have two teeth now!
Your brother continues to be a great source of entertainment. You watch his every move and giggle at him often. There is more and more hair on your little head everyday. Cannot wait to put a bow in!

We started solid foods a few days ago. You are fascinated by the spoon more than anything else. Literally we have to pry it out of your hands when you grab it.
You are such a happy, smiley, girl even as you are currently not feeling so hot. Your brother has been kind enough to pass on his cold to all of us. Thanks right?
Love you little Lou,
Mama

Elliot Newsletter February 2012
Elliot - we have had a rough time battling illness after illness here.
A few weeks ago - we got an email saying your entire preschool was shut-down due to the stomach flu. We were feeling pretty confident that you didn't catch it and proceeded to head out the door when you proceeded to throw-up all over. You were pretty miserable and didn't feel like doing much. Apparently it takes the stomach flu to slow you down.
A week later your daddy and I both got it. Yuck!
Just when we felt like we all recovered you and your sister got a nasty cold. After several days of your nose running you finally seem to be on the mend.
We are hoping cold and flu 2012 has left our house for good!

We have had a few inches of snow which has really delighted you. You have been into making and throwing snowballs and making snow angels.
You had your first valentine's party at preschool. It was a special day and everyone wore their PJ's. You thought this was so silly and said so many times leading up to it. When I picked you up after the party, you told me several times how silly it was that everyone wore their PJ's to school. Even Miss Renee and Miss Rebecca! You delighted in getting valentines from all of your friends.
At the end of the day, you asked if I would be your valentine because I was your best friend. Of course I said, yes! So sweet.

All of a sudden you can say your "L's". What used to be Wah Weez is now Louise. And you really like to emphasize it like when you say, "closed". It sounds like "kah LLLLL osed".
You enjoy listing things on your fingers. Like when we ask you what you would like for dinner. You start with you thumb and list; bread, chicken fingers, cheese, blueberries and milk to drink. Then you like to demonstrate that list several more times.
You frequently want to know what time it is and are beginning to really negotiate things. Like 2 more minutes until bed, etc. It starts huh?
We talk about what words start with what letter and what sound. You love to guess and mostly come up with right words. Though you love to be silly in all things these days and think you are quite hilarious.
We do too.
Love you buddy,
Mommy

Louise Newsletter: Month 5
Louise - you are now five-months-old!
You love to roll over front-to-back and back-to-front. You are teething and gabbing and laughing. In general, you are so fun right now!

You experienced your first trip to San Diego in January. I took you to a conference and you traveled and rolled with it like a champ. I wore you in the moby wrap everywhere and you loved it.
You charmed the pants off of everyone on the airplane and batted your long eye-lashes at everyone at the conference. I had many offers from mamas and grandmas to hold you. Everyone agreed you were the best baby they had ever met. Clearly this is more than our biased opinion.

We can see and hear you practicing talking as you lip buzz and babble. You continue to laugh for no one other than your brother. And you have become interested in grabbing and pulling things including my hair. Your favorite thing to chew on is Sophie the giraffe to ease your throbbing gums. Where is that tooth?

Peek-a-boo and patty-cake make you smile. And you are becoming interested in what everyone is eating at the table. Hard to believe solid foods are just around the corner, you are getting so big, so fast! Your smile brightens everything during these gloomy winter days.
Love you Weezy,
Mama

Elliot Newsletter January 2012
Elliot this winter has been so different from last. We have not had much snow and it has been mild. This has bummed you out as you are itching to get out and relish winter. When I picked you up from preschool today you demonstrated what you did while playing outside. You laid down in the snow and moved your arms up and down. You couldn't remember what it was called so I asked if it was a snow angel? And you jumped up and down with glee!

A few weeks ago we met some friends from preschool to go sledding. Last winter we you weren't that interested. This year, you loved it! You wanted to go again and again. Until you hit a bench at the bottom of the hill, then you were done.
You must be growing because you are eating like crazy! Seriously I can't keep the chicken fingers, bananas, frozen blueberries, bread(of course) and cheese stocked enough. You are hungry every two hours and complain of hunger before bed and first thing in the morning.

Screaming glee or anger or frustration is very common. So much so that you are sent to your room frequently where you close the door and run back and forth screaming. Then you come out all red-faced as if you have just ran around the block. How long will this screaming last? It grates on my nerves a bit...
You are the only person that can make Louise laugh right now. Your daddy and I try so hard to replicate what you do and she won't laugh for us. You guys have such a special bond and it makes me teary to watch sometimes.
You are becoming such a great big brother.
